{"id":10937,"date":"2016-06-27T23:26:01","date_gmt":"2016-06-28T06:26:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cafe.foundation\/blog\/?p=10937"},"modified":"2016-06-27T23:27:33","modified_gmt":"2016-06-28T06:27:33","slug":"10937-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/cafe.foundation\/blog\/10937-2\/","title":{"rendered":"SI2 Gets a Jet Escort"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><del><\/del>Following a fairly non-eventful crossing of the Atlantic, Bertrand Piccard was greeted by a welcoming formation of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Casa_C-101_Aviojet\">Casa C-101 Aviojets<\/a>, Spain\u2019s <em>Patrulla \u00c1guila<\/em> flight demonstration team.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Solar Impulse Airplane - Leg 15 - Flight New York to Seville\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9ExvAfoWwuo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>After three days and nights in the air, Piccard landed in the Spanish sunrise, also finalizing efforts to establish the <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.solarimpulse.com\/post\/146308840750\/icct-international-committee-clean-technology\">International Committee of Clean Technology (ICCT)<\/a>, whose goal is to continue Solar Impulse\u2019s legacy, \u201cpromoting concrete energy efficient solutions in order to solve many of the challenges facing society today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While \u201cUntil recently, protecting the environment was expensive and threatened our society\u2019s comfort, mobility and growth. Today, thanks to modern clean technologies, the energy consumption of the world, and therefore the C02 emissions, could be divided by two, while creating jobs and enhancing profits. The International Committee of Clean Technologies will work in this direction,\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bertrand Piccard and Andre\u2019 Borschberg launched the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.futureisclean.org\/\">#futureisclean initiative\u00a0<\/a> a few months ago. \u00a0A non-governmental organization composed of 400 global organizations.\u00a0 It has been endorsed by patrons such as H.S.H.
