B. Straubel<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Solid Energy Systems, led by MIT alumnus Qichao Hu, has announced it is ready to hit the market in the next year.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/news.mit.edu\/2016\/lithium-metal-batteries-double-power-consumer-electronics-0817\">According to MIT News<\/a>, \u201cSolidEnergy plans to bring the batteries to smartphones and wearables in early 2017, and to electric cars in 2018.
