With its simple user-friendly, maintenance\u00a0free, and lightweight\u00a0design it\u00a0has never been safer and easier to\u00a0experience the thrill of flight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Here we see the first flight of the rev. 3 model.\u00a0 The body-cam is a bit distracting, but does give a view of the steps required to ready the machine for flight.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Electric Chair Maiden Flight (OpenPPG)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fES8u0eNrmM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A second video shows two paramotors in flight, demonstrating great control (on a probably very calm day), and almost vibration free images because of the craft\u2019s small electric motors.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Two Electric PPG Air to Air (OpenPPG 22 v3.2)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/iOWObMjmRvg?start=9&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>How well will one of these things climb?\u00a0 A pilot starting at a 4,400 altitude location climbed nearly 3,000 feet within the 50-minute maximum battery endurance for the OpenPPG.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"OpenPPG - 3000 ft Climb!\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mOzF-fe5yRE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em>Glydrfreak<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/wasatchmag.com\/paragliding-with-braedin-butler-a-family-tradition\/\">Braedin Butler<\/a>) explained details.\u00a0 \u201cMedium Tequila 4 (canopy) loaded at 242 lb (max end of soaring weight range).<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_14186\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sustainableskies.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/openppg-bonka-battery.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14186\" class=\"size-full wp-image-14186\" src=\"http:\/\/sustainableskies.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/openppg-bonka-battery.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"285\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-14186\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">5.6-pound Bonka battery pack. Most OpenPPG flights use four to six of these<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cBetween two flights on the same 6 Bonka batteries, climbing at 65 amps on each ESC, total height gain was 3400 ft.
