{"id":12325,"date":"2019-12-23T17:19:43","date_gmt":"2019-12-24T00:19:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cafe.foundation\/blog\/?p=12325"},"modified":"2019-12-23T17:19:43","modified_gmt":"2019-12-24T00:19:43","slug":"cafe-foundation-joins-with-vertical-flight-society","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/cafe.foundation\/blog\/cafe-foundation-joins-with-vertical-flight-society\/","title":{"rendered":"CAFE Foundation Joins with Vertical Flight Society"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The CAFE Foundation has announced its partnership with the <a href=\"https:\/\/vtol.org\/\">Vertical Flight Society<\/a>, formerly the American Helicopter\u00a0Society\u00a0(AHS).\u00a0 VFS is the non-profit technical\u00a0society\u00a0for the advancement of\u00a0vertical flight.<\/p>\n<p>The VFS has 21 different technical committees and two dozen active chapters around the world. There are over 100 Corporate Members and 28 Educational Members.<\/p>\n<p>CAFE worked with the VFS for the Electric Aircraft Symposium at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, during AirVenture 2019.\u00a0 Now officially combining their efforts, the two organizations are actively planning EAS (Electric Aircraft Symposium) 2020 together.\u00a0 Additionally, VFS has plenty of <a href=\"https:\/\/vtol.org\/events\/evtol2020\">other events coming in 2020<\/a>, probably being energized by the growing interest in Urban Air Mobility and the electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) machines that will make it possible.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-12327\" src=\"http:\/\/cafe.foundation\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/VFS-tvf2020-banner2-528x189.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"528\" height=\"189\" srcset=\"http:\/\/cafe.foundation\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/VFS-tvf2020-banner2-528x189.jpg 528w, http:\/\/cafe.foundation\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/VFS-tvf2020-banner2-300x107.jpg 300w, http:\/\/cafe.foundation\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/VFS-tvf2020-banner2-768x274.jpg 768w, http:\/\/cafe.foundation\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/VFS-tvf2020-banner2.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 528px) 100vw, 528px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Starting early in the New Year, \u201cThe\u00a0Transformative Vertical Flight 2020\u00a0meeting will take place Jan. 21-23, 2020 in San Jose, California, with our eVTOL\u00a0Short Course planned for Monday, Jan. 20 and a tour of NASA Ames on Friday, Jan. 24. A record number of abstracts were submitted for this jam-packed three-day meeting, which includes the following concurrent events:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cAeromechanics for Advanced Vertical Flight Technical Meeting<\/li>\n<li>\u201cInternational Powered Lift Conference (IPLC)<\/li>\n<li>\u201c7th Annual Electric VTOL Symposium\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In May, an even larger event will take place.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-12326\" src=\"http:\/\/cafe.foundation\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/vfs-forum-76-528x164.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"528\" height=\"164\" srcset=\"http:\/\/cafe.foundation\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/vfs-forum-76-528x164.jpg 528w, http:\/\/cafe.foundation\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/vfs-forum-76-300x93.jpg 300w, http:\/\/cafe.foundation\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/vfs-forum-76-768x239.jpg 768w, http:\/\/cafe.foundation\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/vfs-forum-76.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 528px) 100vw, 528px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThe Vertical Flight Society&#8217;s 76th\u00a0Annual Forum &amp; Technology Display<\/strong>\u00a0is the world&#8217;s leading international technical event on vertical flight technology.
