It consists of the following elements:&#8221;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A propeller<\/li>\n<li>Electric motors<\/li>\n<li>Fuel cells<\/li>\n<li>Power electronics<\/li>\n<li>LH2 tank<\/li>\n<li>A cooling system<\/li>\n<li>A set of auxiliary equipment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Instead of housing the hydrogen fuel in the fuselage, Airbus creates a more spacious cabin by moving fuel storage to each pod.\u00a0 Each pod would be identical and modular.\u00a0 Components could be removed and replaced quickly, and if necessary, the entire pod could be removed for maintenance.\u00a0 One startling possibility, that of dropping a pod if it caught on fire, would probably not be well received in areas of dry forests or brushland.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Airbus New Concept Aircraft\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5c3YTJboeIw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Liquid hydrogen and atmospheric oxygen combine in the fuel cells to generate electric current and run the motors.\u00a0 Eight-bladed composite propellers shaped to \u201cprovide added thrust during the takeoff and climb-out phases of flight\u201d would mean high performance and lower &#8220;fuel&#8221; usage.<\/p>\n<p>Glenn Llewellyn, VP of Zero-Emission Aircraft, explains, \u201cThis is one option, but many more will be conceptualized before we make a final selection, a Grazia Vittadini sheds light on what the aviation giant hopes to accomplish with H2.\u00a0 They discuss operating costs, environmental concerns, and other aspects of hydrogen use.\u00a0 They mention <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elringklinger.de\/en\/products-technologies\/electromobility\/fuel-cells\">Elring Klinger fuel cell stacks<\/a> at one point, a possible indication of future suppliers.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Airbus CTO Grazia Vittadini talks about hydrogen\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\"
