2011"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It takes intelligence, courage and a special spark to design, build, and test fly an airplane.\u00a0\u00a0It becomes a deep loss for all in the aviation community when that spark is extinguished.\u00a0\u00a0We are saddened to learn of the\u00a0death of Martin Wezel in the crash of a Yuneec E1000 he was scheduled to fly in the Green Flight Challenge.\u00a0\u00a0Wezel was designer and distributor of aircraft such as the Viva, a high-performance motorglider that had brought him to the attention of Tian Yu, Chairman of Yuneec International.<\/p>\n<p>Yu reflected on the loss of Martin in a <a href=\"http:\/\/yuneec.com\/\">company announcement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In Germany, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wezel-flugzeugtechnik.de \/\">his wife Petra lamented <\/a>the loss of her \u201cdear man and best friend,\u201d and vowed to continue operating the company to which he had given his dreams of flight.<\/p>\n<p>The CAFE Foundation joins in mourning the\u00a0passing of a dedicated and brilliant leader.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-3397\" href=\"http:\/\/cafe.foundation\/blog\/in-my-dreams-i-fly-like-a-bird-martin-wezel-1964-2011\/martin-wezel-2\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3397\" title=\"martin wezel\" src=\"http:\/\/cafe.foundation\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/martin-wezel1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"345\" srcset=\"http:\/\/cafe.foundation\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/martin-wezel1.jpg 500w, http:\/\/cafe.foundation\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/martin-wezel1-300x207.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div id=\"facebook_like\"><iframe src=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/like.php?href=http%3A%2F%2Fcafe.foundation%2Fblog%2Fin-my-dreams-i-fly-like-a-bird-martin-wezel-1964-2011%2F&amp;layout=standard&amp;show_faces=true&amp;width=500&amp;action=like&amp;font=segoe+ui&amp;colorscheme=light&amp;height=80\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"border:none;
