\u201cfirst flights of the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.electravia.fr\/espiderEng.php\"> E-SPIDER<\/a>, the first 2-seater electric powered paraglider in the world.\u201d\u00a0 The 32<sup>nd<\/sup> aircraft flown with her power system attached, it reflects what this hard-working woman has been able to accomplish since 2007, with customers in Europe, Australia, Brazil, China, Taiwan, the USA and Canada. \u00a0It joins an array of single and twin motor ultralight aircraft, motorgliders, trikes, hang gliders, and paramotors electrified by Electravia. \u00a0Anne&#8217;s team has even crafted a<a href=\"http:\/\/www.electravia.fr\/formule1Eng.php\"> 2\/3 scale LeMans racer<\/a> that was part of this year&#8217;s opening ceremonies at the famed track.<\/p>\n<p>E-Spider uses <a href=\"http:\/\/www.electravia.fr\/E_Param\/TARIFS_EPARAM_2012_fr.pdf\">a Flytec HP-13.5 brushless motor<\/a>, different from the brushed-type Lynch motors used on most of Electravia\u2019s aircraft.\u00a0 The little pancake-like unit puts out 79 kilograms (174 pounds) of thrust, and can run on its 3.9 kilowatt-hour Kokam battery pack for one hour solo or 40 minutes hauling two into the air.\u00a0 The pack weighs 23.8 kilograms (52.4 pounds), constituting the majority of the power system\u2019s weight of 42 kg (92.4 pounds), including motor, controller and aluminum hexagonal cage. \u00a0Flytec\u2019s powerhouse weights a mere 4.7 kg (10.34 pounds) and its controller adds only 0.8 kg (1.76 pounds) to the total.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"E-Spider.wmv\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xWMvVLHDPUY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Electravia\u2019s unique 1.5 meter (4.9 feet) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.e-props.fr\/EP_concepts.php \">QD2 concept propeller<\/a> is claimed to cut noise because of the irregular placement of its four blades.\u00a0 The video explains the theory and demonstrates results of this innovative thinking.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Description fonctionnement h\u00e9lice E-PROPS QD2\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ohcyRQWPM2g?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Electravia uses its organic light emitting diode (OLED) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.e-motor.fr\/escreen.php\">e-Screen<\/a> to monitor motor and battery functions.\u00a0\u00a0 The screen is visible even in bright sunlight.<\/p>\n<p>We eagerly await Anne\u2019s and Electravia\u2019s next promised creation, the KiloWatt, a two-seat electric motorglider along the lines of Electrolight 2, their Fauconnet sailplane with a Lynch motor in its nose.<\/p>\n<div
